South Cerney & Cerney Wick Virtual Walking Tour.

This has opened in a separate window which you should make Full Screen, and when finished you can close and  return to where you left off.

You may find it useful to print out this page.

You may have come to this page from the very first page, or from the link on the top section of the Main Page. If from the very first page then please skip the next few lines as you haven't seen them yet!

On the Main Page, there should have been four lines at the head of the screen as follows:-

Line 1

South Cerney - Gloucestershire - A Virtual Walking Tour

Line 2

Possible Starting Points - Click Here for South Cerney Map - or - Click Here for Cerney Wick Map

Line 3

At any point that you find anything wrong, . . . . just click here and write down your comments

Line 4

Display S.C. Full Map - Click here for instructions . . . only four lines . . . Click here for help

If any of these lines overflowed the screen width and thus made an extra line, then your screen needs adjustment. There are five adjustments to look at. These adjustments are:-

Screen size should be set at 800x600 pixels. Do a right click somewhere on the desktop face of the computer, other than on an icon or the task bar. A special menu will come up. Click on "Properties". When the "Display Properties" screen comes up click on the "Settings" tab at the top. See that the Screen Area is set at 800 x 600 pixels or greater. If less, then move the bar across by dragging it to the right. While there, if there is an option  marked "Advanced" take it and then read on the next section.
Fonts should be medium or normal if there are many choices, or small if only two choices. If you have followed the instructions above and found a box marked "Advanced" it will probably have at the top an option for Font Size. Click on the arrow on the right hand end to open up the options. If there are several choices, select "Medium". If there is only "Small Fonts, Large Fonts and Other", then select "Small Fonts". It may be that you don't have this option. In which case you will have to hunt through the menus of your Internet Browser until you find an option for Font Sizes and set it in the same way there.
You may have other things taking up width on the screen There are certain routines and other software that you can purchase that put a panel of options down one side of the screen. Sometimes these are always on top and therefore the width of the screen is reduced and you are no longer using all the 800 pixels width. These usually can either be closed down completely or sent down to the task bar as an icon. This is usually done by clicking on the left hand of the three icons in the top right hand corner of the panel, on the symbol that looks like a dash or hyphen.
Where is the Task Bar? The Task Bar is the bar in Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista or NT that is normally along the bottom of the screen. This bar is normally at the bottom, but can be at the top or either side. If its down one side, again the width of the screen is restricted. Click in the middle of the bar, not on any icon or information, and drag it down to the bottom of the screen.
You are not using "Full Screen" If the system initially starts off in a Window which is less in size than the full computer screen, then you should immediately click on the middle symbol in the top right hand corner of the Window to make it use Full Screen. This also applies to screens such as this that open themselves in a new Window.

Having changed any of these settings you may then have to use the manual settings on your screen to re-size the picture. Your should have settings for moving the picture left, right, up and down. Then settings for stretching or squeezing the picture left and right, or up and down.

If you are still unable to view the system correctly, then please send us an e-mail explaining your problem.
